Reel Review: Motorheads Kicks Teen Mystery into Overdrive

Prime Video’s newest series Motorheads is action, speed, romance, and drama combined into one huge mystery!

The series follows a gang of four teenagers in their attempt to take over the road. When siblings Caitlyn (Melissa Collazo) and Zac (Micheal Cimino) move back to their mother’s hometown, secrets about their famous race-car driving father are brought to the surface after his disappearance nearly 17 years ago. Teaming up with their friends, Curtis (Uriah Shelton) and Marcel (Nicholas Cantu), the core four discovers a world full of deception both on and off the race track.

The series is all about progress and growth. Throughout the episodes we follow Caitlyn in her journey to fix up her father’s old car. With the help of Curtis, the two make an amazing pair and a slow burning relationship forms from there. While Caitlyn discovers a passion for fixing cars, Zac finds himself wanting to follow their father’s legacy and earn his place behind the wheel. The series showcases some action-packed racing sequences that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

There are a ton of emotional performances between the actors as well. This diverse cast is not only well-rounded, but incredibly talented. Each episode showcases flashbacks that reveal more about the story; and every twist is just as unexpected as the next! Each plot twist is revealed in the most jaw dropping of ways, leaving us hooked from beginning to the end.

Motorheads truly gave us all the aesthetics of a small town; from the scenery to its people. Every character has a dark side but there is no clear villain, which makes the conversations and encounters feel even more authentic.

Overall, Motorheads was an outstanding show with a driven plot and an ending that will leave you speechless. With a crazy car crash and a mysterious phone call, we are officially hooked and awaiting a season 2 announcement hopefully soon!

Motorheads is available to binge on Prime Video now.
