Reel News: First Look at The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3

Whether you’re Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah, we can’t deny the pure excitement we feel about The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3! With new photos of the upcoming season releasing, fans are eagerly waiting to see what happens next at Cousins Beach!

Based on the trilogy written by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Belly (Lola Tung) and her epic love-triangle between brothers Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno); whom she’s spent every summer of her childhood with. Belly has experienced her fair share of love, loss, and a ton of drama. Now we are left with a Belly and Conrad breakup, and a new relationship between her and Jeremiah forming. 

Conrad is still grappling with Jeremiah and Belly’s seemingly newfound love. There is so much history that still hangs between Belly and Conrad After all, he was her first love and there will always be feelings there. Both Belly and Conrad have suppressed those emotions, and Conrad does so by throwing himself into the college experience. The new photo from season 3 showcases Conrad as he attends college as a pre-med student, the career path he chose after the saddening loss of his mother, Susannah.

Meanwhile, Belly isn’t the only one who gets a love story, the show also ties in a romance between Belly’s best friend Taylor (Rain Spencer) and her brother Steven (Sean Kaufman). This storyline has been a fan favorite and a unique plot point that differed from the novel. While Taylor and Steven’s relationship seems smooth sailing at first, we can surely expect some turbulence to occur this season!

Over the years, we have really seen these characters grow up, but there are still some loose ends in the story to tie up. In the last season we will see our favorite squad grapple with college, adulthood, and ultimately finding true love. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, author Jenny Han spoke to fans saying, “There are the things that they know and then there are things they think they know, and then there’s going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them.” 

Whether you’ve read the books or not, we can all expect some shockingly good surprises! While we can’t wait to see what the final season brings for Belly and her friends, we do have these amazing photos to hold us over and keep us guessing!
