Reel Review: The Wrong Paris is Your Newest Country Rom-Com Obsession

Saddle up y'all, because Netflix’s newest rom-com is about to take you to the heart of Texas in The Wrong Paris!

The film follows Dawn (Miranda Cosgrove), a small-town Texas girl who has always dreamed of studying art in Paris. In one final attempt to make enough money for her dream, Dawn applies for a reality dating show that is casting girls in her hometown. What she doesn’t anticipate is being recruited and falling head over heels for cowboy bachelor Trey (Pierson Fode). Torn between the money and her love for Trey, Dawn finds herself with one looming decision to make.

The Wrong Paris is your classic rom-com with funny moments, adorable banter, and a storyline so unhinged it just works! Though it’s Cosgrove and Fode’s chemistry that really makes the film feel authentic. Together, the two create this heartwarming love at first sight couple that we see on screen.

The story is not without its drama and chaos; and what is worse than putting a bunch of young single girls under the same roof? Recording it for national television! The film also pokes fun at reality TV and leans into cliches similar to that of the Bachelor; with mean girls and overdramatic performances!

Overall, The Wrong Paris is worth the watch for its simplicity and all around comfort! Miranda Cosgrove and Pierson Fode absolutely stole the show for us and told an incredible story. After all, who doesn’t love a good rom-com with some eye candy?!

The Wrong Paris is available to stream on Netflix now!
