Read it Before You See It: Book Adaptations Coming in 2025

Get ready, because 2025 is going to be a good year for book adaptations! What better way to prepare for a film than to read the book that started it all? The following stories are highly anticipated with their releases this year and come with an amazing cast. We cannot wait to check them out:


Apple Cider Vinegar

Based on the novel The Woman Who Fooled the World by Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, Apple Cider Vinegar adapts the true-ish story to the Netflix screen. The series will star Kaitlyn Dever and Alycia Debnam as Belle and Milla, two girls both set on curing their life-threatening illnesses. When the two decide to track their journey on social media, a world of global chaos ensues. Apple Cider Vinegar releases to Netflix February 6.


Die, My Love

An all new dark horror film will be releasing this year for all you thriller fans. Die, My Love is based on Ariana Harwicz’s novel that tells the story of a struggling mother going through postpartum depression and begins to enter a deep state of psychosis. The film Die, My Love will star Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson as the leading couple!


The Housemaid

New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden is getting her book adapted into a film starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. The Housemaid tells the story of Millie, a struggling young woman, who lands herself a new job as a housemaid to the wealthy Nina and her husband. Millie soon uncovers the secrets and dangers that lie within the family. Joining Sweeney and Seyfreid in the film are Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone. The Housemaid has a release date of Christmas Day this year!


Long Bright River

Amanda Seyfried is booked and busy this year, as she is starring in yet another adaptation! Based on the novel of the same name written by Liz Moore, Seyfried will play a Philadelphian police officer who is on the hunt to find her missing sister in a dangerously high crime city. Long Bright River is set to release on Peacock later this year.


The Running Man

Glen Powell is set to star in an all new sci-fi adaptation later this year. The Running Man, based on the 1982 novel written by Steven King, is set in a futuristic and dystopian 2025 where the government controls the media. Powell plays Ben, a man who fights the ultimate battle to save his sick daughter. The Running Man releases in theaters November 7 of this year.


Wicked

Last but certainly not least, Wicked Part 2 releases this year! Wicked: For Good will continue where the last phenomenon left off with Glinda and Elphaba’s story. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo will revive their roles to bring a beautiful ending to the brilliant story created by Gregory McGuire. Wicked: For Good hits theaters November 21!
